To my WordPress Followers

I snapped this lovely shot on my way home from work today!
It was too beautiful not to stop and stare.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and celebrated the end of summer in style.

Today’s post is short but important!

All the people who read DesignLively make the time and effort that goes Into blogging worth it. To help make what I can offer here on the blog way better and more helpful, I will soon be moving to a self-hosted account – which mean if you read this blog through WordPress I will disappear! And I would hate to lose my WordPress followers, some of which have been following me for several years now (thank you!).

To my WordPress followers, If you’d like to continuing connecting with me please re-subscribe to DesignLively in a way of your choosing:

I’m very much looking forward to becoming self hosted, and it will allow me to do SO MANY MORE THINGS that I can’t do right now because of my current blog setup. I hope you are as excited as I am!

I have a huge amount of draft posts burning a hole in my blog pocket, so there are many projects coming soon! Here are a few hints:

Happy Monday!

Introducing Design Lively

Lately I’ve decided that I need a bit of a change around here. That change will come in the form of a new name – Design Lively.

Maybe you’ll be sad to see “Withywindle” go – I am too! Maybe you’re relieved because you still haven’t figured out how to pronounce it – in which case, you aren’t the only one! 🙂

Lively – Derivative of living. Energetic, vigorous, animated. Imparting spirit or vivacity. Full of life.

I hope you agree that this represents what I want to express in my projects/writing/ideas. In the near future I will be moving this site over to http://www.designlively.com.

I’ll be sure to announce it when I do! I would hate to lose all my lovely WordPress subscribers, so I’ll make sure to make a secondary announcement before the move.

In the meantime, things will probably get a little helter skelter around here – both in terms of graphics and technicality.

And thanks again for making writing so much fun.

On to 2012!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone rung in the New Year with confetti and glitter and far too much food. 😀

My resolutions for 2012 are:

1. Less house. More play.

2. Eat more fresh produce – join our CSA in the spring!

3. Get to know my sewing machine and camera better.

But before we move on to the new year, let’s look back at my 2011 most popular project posts:

2011 was a great year! I went skiing for the first time in Colorado, we packed up our apartment by the beach to buy our first home, I’ve been to Home Depot more times this year than I’d ever have imagined, used more tools I’ve never seen before, celebrated out first anniversary in Cape Cod and lived through the Halloween “ThunderSnow”.

It was a good year. Here’s to 2012!

How did you spend New Year’s Eve?
