The Weirdest House DIY Thing We’ve Encountered

I’m still baffled by this.

We are (finally!) gutting our 70s wood paneled three-season room.

In the process, amongst the insulation, we found…

A snake skeleton.

Fully intact.

I HATE snakes.

Loathe. Despise. Cry-me-a-river-to-my-Momma fraidy-pants of snakes.

But I also worked in the spine medical device industry for four years, and this thing has got a lot of vertebrae.

Thus I was torn.

Compelled to look, yearning to run away.

So I poked it with my crow bar, took a few photos and then it disappeared into our Shop-Vac.

Followed by the Heebie Jeebies for the next three days.

Weird, huh?

Ahhh Katharine….. This summer we had to tear apart our newly installed cottage bathroom due to a fox snake that decided to get stuck in the wall during construction and then died there. Ewww. Ewwww. Ewwww.

I am in the Hate the Snake Camp with you my friend. The photo gave me the big-time creeps. I had no idea that was the internal structure. Your mom, who went through college with me, will explain how I missed that day in Bio 101 class. Anyway, major freaking me out thing to find in the wall. Crazy weird. I think I’m glad you shared it here. I think. It was interesting. I should not have read it after dark. Images lurk in my mind for way too long.

Totally weird . . . . . and yet so fascinating! Can’t look at it and can’t take my eyes off it. What does that mean? HATE snakes but intrigued by skeletons. I agree with everyone – EWWWWWWWWWWWW!
